    Perform Linux technical support for Linux server systems. Manage and maintain most current version Linux OS including, Red Hat and Oracle Linux on physical and virtual operating environments. Provide technical oversight and consultation as required.  Install, configure, maintain, manage, and troubleshoot Linux OS and associated components.


    The contractor shall provide the following general system administration tasks:


    • Manage and maintain currently supported and subsequent Linux Operating Systems (OS) on physical and virtual Operating Environments.
    • Provide technical oversight and consultation as required.
    • Install, configure, maintain, manage, and troubleshoot Linux Server Operating Environments and associated components such as, but not limited to, the OS, File System, hardware issues, kernel and OS performance, Domain Name System (DNS) and networking components including VLANS and bonded network interfaces.
    • Perform backups in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and guidance and ensure backup failures are properly addressed.
    • Ensure operating environments are properly configured and functioning with specified network and storage components and provided tool suites.
    • Adequately validate functionality subsequent to system or component modification.
    • Exhibit effective and professional interpersonal skills to include written and oral communications.
    • Analyze, monitor, troubleshoot, and diagnose to ensure system optimization, integrity, availability, and functionality are within prescribed parameters.
    • Install, configure, administer, and support secure remote access utilities and applications including, but not limited to, SSH, Secure Web Access, VSphere, and Remote X server access.
    • Configure networking and storage components to meet engineering specifications using LVM (Logical Volume Management).
    • Possess Linux BASH and or PERL shell scripting skills.
    • Document processes, procedures, and activities as required.
    • Interact with service desks, technical staff, and customers to resolve technical problems or provide information.
    • Use provided ticket management system as directed to properly document and resolve problems.


    Certifications Preferred:

    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)◾Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator (RHCVA) Red Hat Certified Datacenter Specialist (RHCDS)
